The Team

Chris Ayshford

Chris was born and raised in the eastern suburbs of Sydney, spending much of his childhood around the coast and city life. After high school his family relocated to the Gold Coast, but before long he returned to Sydney to reconnect with familiar surroundings and begin shaping his own path.

His first career was in hospitality where he worked across a range of roles, learning the value of people, service and resilience. In 2004 he moved to London, spending three years working and travelling through Europe before relocating to Banff in Canada for a year. These experiences gave him perspective, independence and a love of adventure that has stayed with him. Returning to Sydney, he began to look for new opportunities.

In 2009 Chris shifted into the IT industry, starting in customer service before moving into sales and leadership positions. His ability to connect with people and adapt to change saw him grow quickly, and today he holds a national role with OtterBox. His career reflects not only his professional skills but also his commitment to building strong relationships and leading with authenticity.

Alongside his professional journey, Chris has faced personal challenges. In 2014 he experienced his first wave of anxiety, a period that left him feeling as though his world was falling apart. With little understanding of what was happening, it was overwhelming and frightening. Through professional support, personal reflection and important lifestyle changes, he learned how to manage anxiety in healthier ways. One of the most significant steps was giving up alcohol entirely, a decision that has played a key role in improving his wellbeing.

Chris has been married to his wife Amanda for seven years and together they are raising two children, Ava and Parker. Fatherhood has been a turning point in his life, bringing a new sense of purpose and perspective. It has grounded him in what matters most and strengthened his desire to be present and supportive.

Looking back, Chris recognises that life does not always follow a straight line. It is shaped by challenges, setbacks and unexpected turns, but also by growth and opportunity. His hope is that by sharing his story openly, other men who may be going through difficult times will feel encouraged to seek support, to make changes that strengthen their wellbeing and to know they are not alone.

Chris 'Topher' Naylor

Christopher grew up in the southern suburbs of Sydney, spending his early years around Botany Bay and the Sutherland Shire. Although he remains a proud New South Welshman at heart, he now considers Brisbane and the Gold Coast his true home.

He has lived across much of Australia including Port Macquarie, Brisbane, the Gold Coast, Darwin, Kakadu, Alice Springs and Melbourne, as well as spending time in the island nation of Vanuatu. Those journeys brought with them many great experiences and some difficult ones too.

Raised alongside three sisters by his single mother, with his grandparents playing a huge role in his upbringing, Christopher credits them with instilling the strength and resilience that still guide him today. In his mid-teens he learned that the man he believed was his father was not his biological dad, and attempts to find him were unsuccessful.

The most challenging years of his life came through a series of painful losses that shaped his path. In 2011 his beloved grandmother passed away. That grief deepened when he discovered that his mother had been stealing from her. In 2013 he faced both the joy of becoming a father and the heartbreak of losing his son Kaden, who passed away at only two months of age after complications from H.I.E. Within a year his marriage broke down and he was divorced in 2015. The following year he lost his “Dad”, the man who had raised him since infancy, after a long illness, and only five months later his grandfather passed away at the age of 94.

During this time Christopher kept moving in search of escape, eventually finding himself in Kakadu. The change of environment did not bring the relief he hoped for and he experienced periods of anxiety and depression. Refusing to give in, he chose instead to channel his energy into supporting others. He began volunteering with Sands and Pillars of Strength, speaking with grieving fathers and men who had suffered similar losses. This work gave him purpose and became an important part of his own healing.

His time in the Northern Territory also brought love into his life when he met his partner Victoria. Today they are raising two boys, Lincoln and Oliver, who keep him proud, grounded and busy.
