Banter Bench is a free, monthly space for blokes to slow down and be real with each other. It’s a place to sit in a circle, take a breath, and have the kinds of conversations that don’t always happen in everyday life. Some blokes talk, some just listen, and both are completely fine. There’s no pressure to open up, no fixing, and no judgement.
A lot of men are carrying more than they let on. Stress, work pressure, relationships, family stuff, or just the quiet weight of keeping everything together. Banter Bench exists to give men a place where they don’t have to pretend everything’s fine. Where they can hear from other blokes going through similar things and realise they’re not alone in it.
This isn’t therapy or counselling. It’s simply blokes supporting blokes in a calm, respectful environment. Regular connection like this can help clear the head, reduce isolation, and make things feel more manageable. Sometimes just being heard, or hearing someone else put words to what you’ve been feeling, is enough to shift things.
Banter Bench is an initiative run by Beyond The Banter and takes place on the 3rd Thursday of each month in Western Sydney, from 6:30pm to 8:30pm, launching February 2026. It’s offered free of charge, because support and connection shouldn’t depend on your wallet.
If life’s feeling heavy, if you’re under pressure, or if you just want to be around decent men who get it, Banter Bench is for you. You don’t need a reason to come. You don’t need to talk. Just turning up is enough.
